Plan a party for the 4th of July using a red, white, and blue theme. Invite family and friends to join you or just celebrate as a family. Start with a patriotic themed tablecloth -- or just use a red or blue tablecloth. Add fun red, white, and blue serving dishes, plates, napkins and silverware.

July 4 - Independence Day at Poplar Forest from 10 AM - 4 PM

July 4 - Lovingston Fireworks at Nelson County Middle/High School at dusk (approximately 9 PM)

July 4 - Fireworks after Lynchburg Hillcats Home Game - game at 6:30 PM; fireworks to follow

July 5 - Lovingston 4th of July Parade at 9 AM

July 5 - Independence Day Celebration at the Frontier Culture Museum from 9 AM - 5 PM

July 5 - Fireworks on the Riverfront at Riverfront Park - music begins at 6 PM; fireworks at dark

July 5 - Independence Day Fireworks at Mitchell's Point Marina from 7 PM - 11 PM (fireworks at dark)

Since July 4, 1776, America has been a free country. This is the date the Declaration of Independence was adopted by delegates from the 13 original colonies. Independence Day, also known as the 4th of July, is celebrated each year with parades, fireworks displays, the reading of the Declaration of Independence, family cookouts and other fun activities.
